Wallan Vale Dairy is situated at the northern end of Wongawallan Valley in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Our family started dairying in the 1880s and have been milking for 5 generations.
We first trialled organic practices across several paddocks in 1993, and have been operating the entire farm using organic principles since 1999 with:
~ NO ARTIFICIAL CHEMICALS
~ NO ARTIFICIAL FERTILISERS
~ NO PESTICIDES
~ NO ANTIBIOTICS
The process to achieve Official Organic Certification is currently underway, currently in conversion 113631C for organic certification with ACO (Australian Certified Organic). Wallan Vale Dairy is a boutique ‘cottage industry’ where the cows are treated as pets. Most of our jersey girls have been bred on the farm and are at least a third generation descendant.
By milking only a small herd, we ensure there is no stress on the cows, or the farmer, and that optimal health and happiness is maintained by all! The ‘girls’ are milked only once each day – early every morning, which ensures the ‘happy herd’ can relax and spend the rest of the day grazing in the lush paddocks.
Our relaxed pasture feeding provides the cows with the finest health and the cleanest and purest raw milk. Our cows are not fed any grain at all, they are solely pasture fed. This delivers optimal health for the cows and ensures the purest quality bath milk is achieved.
Wallan Vale Dairy implements the highest standards of natural practices, and in doing so, ensures that the raw milk produced by our jersey girls is a direct reflection of exceptional quality – exactly the way people expect their cosmetic raw milk product to be!
